China Datang Corporation, simplified as China Datang or CDT, is an extra large-scale electricity generation enterprise organized on the foundation of part of enterprises and institutions under the former State Power Corporation of China with the approval of the State Council. The Corporation has its legal site at Huashi Building, No. B 16, Jinrong Steer, West District, Beijing, China.
　　CDT operates all the assets formed by the state investments and owned by the Corporation, its registered capital amounts to 12 billion yuan (RMB) and controllable assets 72.1 billion yuan. By the end of 2000, the Corporation had possessed installed equity capacity of 21,210 MW and controllable installed generating capacity in operation and under construction 32,490 MW, of which, thermal generating units 25,338 MW, accounting for 78%, hydropower generating units 7152 MW, accounting for 22%.
　　China Datang Corporation owns Beijing Datang Power Generation Co. Ltd, the first one listed in London and Hong Kong, Hunan Huayin Power Stock Co. Ltd and Guangxi Guiguan Power Stock Co. Ltd listed earlier in China; owns Shouyangshan Power Plant, Zhangjiakou Power Plant, Tianjin Datang Panshan Power Generation Co. Ltd and Yantan Hydropower Station etc large scale power plants each with installed capacity of more than 1000 MW; owns controllable capacity 4200 MW of Longtan Hydropower Project that is the second largest hydropower project being under construction currently in China, as well as China Water Resources and Electric Power Material Supply Co. etc. The affiliated member units are distributed in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Anhui, Jiangsu, Henan, Hunan, Shaanxi, Gansu and Guangxi etc provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the State Council).
