The full name of the Corporation is China Power Investment Corporation, abbreviated as CPI.
　　The Enterprise Group established taking China Power Investment Corporation as its parent company is titled as China Power Investment Group or CPIG for short. Pursuant to CPIG‘s regulations and approved by its parent company, the member units of the Group can be topped with China Power Investment Group.
　　The Corporation is a state-owned enterprise established on the foundation of part of enterprises and institutions under the former State Power Corporation , it is an authorized investment organ and a demonstration of state stock-holding corporation agreed by the State Council. After established, according to the "Corporation Law of the People‘s Republic of China"("corporation law for short below),the Corporation will gradually restructure and normalize its solely owned, stock-holding and joint stock enterprises.
