Association of Electricity Supply Industry of Asia and the Western Pacific (AESIEAP) is a regional non-governmental organization formed as a result of the first Technical Conference of representatives of the electricity supply industry in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific in Hong Kong in 1975.

With the overall goal of promoting the electricity supply industry in the region, it pursues the following objectives: (1) foster cooperation and exchange of expertise and technology; (2) study problems at the regional level; (3) sponsor meetings, conferences and seminars; (4) cooperate with international, regional and governmental organizations; (5) encourage the participation of organizations and individuals whose activities are related to the electricity supply industry.

During nearly 30 years, AESIEAP has achieved remarkable growth, extending across geographic territories and professional discipline. It now has 17 member countries and regions with 55 full members, and 45 associate members.

The Conference on the Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) is a major technical conference sponsored by AESIEAP and has become the highest level and most prestigious conference of the power industry in the region. This biennial activity and principal communication forum of AESIEAP brings together decision makers, utility officials, professionals, manufacturers and suppliers all over the world, to share expertise and information on development in knowledge and technology in the electric power industry.

　China Electricity Council (CEC)



CEC, a non-profit social entity registered at the Ministry of Civil Affairs, is a national self-regulating association which is voluntarily formed by national power enterprises, institutions and local industrial associations. CEC was founded with the approval of the State Council in 1988.

At present, CEC has 1,274 members, with 189 director members (including 32 executive director members). It has 10 branches, such as Thermal Power Association, Hydropower Association and Power Supply Association and 2 special committees.

CEC is dedicated to providing a wide range of services for Chinese power enterprises and plays a role of bridging the government, the society and power enterprises.

With the deepening of China's power industry restructuring, CEC will improve and perfect its function in management and services, and play an even more important role.
